The demo is suckish (optimization wise)

According to this it can run Arkham City at medium detail settings at an average of 51 FPS, and that's a far more demanding game, so I don't think you'll have any problem with Arkham Asylum, may even be able to squeak out high/some high settings. Of course performance can be somewhat variable based on the host CPU, but I don't think you'll have any issues enjoying Arkham Asylum.
