Good standalone mic?

It may not look like it , but it can mount on any ordinary mic stand. Additionally, the little clip can be used in a variety of ways to bring the mic closer to your face. Though a deskstand is still the easiest way to do this.

If he already has a good heaphone, it kind of makes sense to go for a mic. Especially in those situations where either the audio on his soundcard or that of a high-end motherboard is actually superior to what those USB headsets are able to do.

Not saying that headsets are not good and convenient products. But there are legitimate reasons why people search for other options.
