Anyone here played BF3 and the BF4 open beta?

It looks the same to me, but how does the gameplay feel? I was hoping they'd add something more realistic this time around such as a soldier actually performing the full prone-croch-stand stance instead of running and proning at the same damn time. Or did they fix that?

And do the soldiers feel like they have more weight to them like in Killzone?

Yea I played both a lot. There's no realism in BF4. You run around 100mph constantly dodging explosions and enemy snipers.

They want the COD audience and that's what the game is similar too except it has better visuals and bigger maps with vehicles.

Arma is the closest thing you'll get to a military simulator.

DICE is finally realizing CoD has the superior gameplay, except sniping is still better in BF.

BF3 already forces you to go through the prone-crouch-stand animations. If you run and prone you do a sort of a dive onto the ground (more like a slide). I don't see what's unrealistic about it.

"Weight"? You mean input lag and/or negative acceleration. There's probably a way to do it. Trying turning off Raw input and turn on V-sync

therickmu25 wasn't playing the same game I was apparently as the soldiers most definitely do have more of a feeling of momentum. I will agree if you want realism go buy ARMA though, it's never been what the BF series has been about.

As for the stance thing, no you don't have to go between intermediate steps. It wasn't fixed because it wasn't broken in the first place. And the comparisons to CoD are idiotic, the two series are superficially similar but have almost nothing in common by way of feel and flow. Even in similar modes if you don't feel the difference something is very, very wrong.

Well I'm just debating if I should get BF4 now or Arkham Origins. I watched the leaked gameplay vids for the first few hours of the game and it looks alright. But with BF4, I cant really make a judgement since there's no official final version gameplay and one of the devs said the final version will be completely different from the open beta.

If you aren't the sort to drop a hundred hours or more the first few weeks you should probably wait till black Friday. Supposedly BF4 is going to be as low as $30 at Gamestop (ick). Then again if you were the sort who'd drop serious time on it then it shouldn't even be a question.

What? BF4 beta felt slower paced in movement and aiming when compared to BF3.. So much so that whiners made countless topics complaining about it in the official BF4 beta forums.

I play with 120 FOV which makes it seem like I'm in fast forward. I'm coming from ARMA 3 the last 5 months so I guess looking back, that's why the game feels like an arcade game and rightfully so.

it's good but Idk I need to see how all the maps are. I hated the beta map.
