I tried playing Deus Ex (the original) and I couldn't get into it. I can forgive bad/old graphics if the gameplay is good (I love FTL and KotOR to death), but DE is just boring. I uninstalled it and Invisible War. I still plan to play Human Revolution.

You are missing out on a life changing experience. Deus Ex 1 is the meaning of life.

It's ok TC, nostalgia is a hell of a drug and some people just refuse to stop.

Deus Ex is overrated. It has a nerd cult following and a sizable fanboy base, though.

I played it when it came out, and I liked it. I would have liked it more had the mechanics been solid. But trying to get into it today can be hard. The graphics were not good even when it came out, and the gameplay is rough.

The game design, on the other hand, is very good. There are many different ways to achieve your goals, different character builds and different routes/ways to get into places.

Exactly this, Deus Ex was a masterpiece for it's time, but it lacked the polish to age well.

At first I thought you'd said the second one (Invisible War) was better, and I really was about to rage. :P
