40-50 GB would take up to about half a day (~1.5 MB/s) . . . . I really wish America and Canada (as I intend to move back) would force all ISP's to give at absolute minimum like 5 MB/s.

Or you could just not be poor and pay for what you want

I never realized being poor was a choice. Wow, those starving children sure do have awful decision making skills. Don't they realize that all they had to do was decide not to be poor and they'd have expensive gaming machines, fast internet, and a fridge full of hot pockets?

meh not really. Steam downloads games at about 2.5 mb/s-3 mb/s an hour (or is it MB/s? I can never remember) so I'd just have to leave my computer on overnight or while I was at work and I would manage.

My cap may start getting in the way but really? That's not going to be an issue unless all the stars align and the perfect storm of AAA game sales happen in the same month. What are the chances of buying 5-6 giant AAA 40-50gb games in one month? Almost zero for me. Also doubt that most games, outside giant AAA blockbuster titles with sky high production values, are going to be 40-50gb on a regular basis. Maybe a few years down the line that might start to happen but if my cap starts to get in the way I'll be switching ISP's to the one with no cap but a slightly slower connection.

As for hard drive space? I'm covered lol I impulse buy HDD's whenever they go on crazy sales. I have about 4TB's or so of free space right now.

Oh also to those looking for a great SSD deal. Ebay has Crucial M500 240gb for 145 bucks right now. Lowest I've seen on that size of SSD and Crucial is reliable as heck.

Its per second. If it downloaded 2.5-3MB per hour you would have the game downloaded by the time they released the next installment.

Don't give a rats ass about speed, but if they think they'll get away with 50 gb games outside of US, again, not because of speed, but because of internet caps, then they're incredibly dumb.

50 gb breaks the limit of everybody I know personally, except myself.

US has good cap options. A lot of places are absolutely terrible and again from people I know, with how RIDICULOUSLY expensive extra GBs are worth, you're sure they would NEVER buy such a game.
