Which roguelike/survival game should I try?

Don't Starve
FTL
Minecraft 1.7 just came out and rocks, but obviously every human owns it.
The Pit
Classics like StoneSoup and UnReal still are good.

Don't get:

Sir, being Hunted
How to Survive
Project Zomboid

Maybe:

Eldritch (It's only like 2 hours long and niche as hell.)

You know you can completely disregard what this person has to say when he lists Minecraft as a roguelike.

It doesn't have to be strictly roguelike, survival types are good too. I'll probably go with don't starve since it seems like it has more content and I like the art style more.

That wayward game seems like it has a lot of potential, but I can't say I'm a fan of how it looks.

Thanks for the suggestions.

TC asked for games from 2 different types, roguelikes, and survival games. Minecraft falls under the second, pay attention.

Since no one here has mentioned it, I'd like to suggest Bionic Dues (Steam).

It's a roguelike with mechs. Don't be dissuaded by the artwork. It is indeed a little rough, but you get used to it quite quickly in the game.

It's a very tactical roguelike, but the learning curve is surprisingly gentle.

Don't Starve, Dwarf Fortress and FTL are my number one suggestions.

I've never played it before, but UnReal World is a survival and roguelike hybrid. I've been hearing good things about it.

And remember guys, "roguelite" is a thing now.

Also, Chess is a game of skill much like all gameplay only video games. So it is pretty mindless if you think about it.-mtjormitch
