Which case do you have exactly both make and model. What make and model is your 500watt power supply. I have a mid tower and my 7970 fits perfectly with about 5 more inches to spare.

how big is 7970 vs 560ti

71C Max temp is not bad at all. If a videocards temperature goes to 90 than you have a problem

My 7970 gets up to 65c and i live in Arizona and the hottest it's gotten here recently is 95. My Sapphire dual x is about 12 inches long give or take and this is my case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139005. It is pretty big for a mid tower case and it comes with removable hard drive cages as well.

Definitely good enough lately. They released a set of drivers that really helped with x-fire issues and I haven't really heard any complaints about their drivers since then. Nvidia has had a few duds in the last two months or so. I haven't had any issues personally but games crashing was pretty common.
