what card would you recommend for low-res gaming?

My monitor has a native resolution of 1280x1024 but I plan on playing on resolutions as low as 1280 x 600 for better performance. What GPU would be enough to max games at 60 fps, without anti aliasing? Would a 650 ti boost be overkill? I want to be able to run the next generation of games that are coming out like AC black flag, arkham origins, blacklist, etc.

Uh...apparently you have a 7970.

Why would you need a new card to play on low resolutions?

Your card is enough to max out most games at such a low resolution. In fact, you can even use something like 2x or 3x anti-aliasing without losing frames.

7750 or 650 plain

actually don't my word for it, you still need a good CPU as well

The hardware in my SIG is accurate save for the GPU, so CPU is not a problem. What are you basing your recommendation off of? I would've thought a 650 would not be enough to MAX games at 720p, was I incorrect?

I'd try the 7790 vs the ti boost

the NVidia does better in parts due to the memory bus

but the Ati card has more shading power
