Never unless they find a way to make it so ads aren't a free path right to your computer for malware and aren't extremely annoying. I had an add on once that was pretty cool, it let ads load so pages still got the revenue from them but covered the ads up with cool facts and messages, but the malware problem was still there so I just use NoScript and AdBlock now, I'm not taking the chances just so Gamefaqs can put their annoying flashy ads in my face.

Simple banner, no flash, no video, no noise, party like it's 1999. Not a half million of them either, we/re talking one in the header and maybe a footer or side bar max. Need to be targeted ads to, I want to see things that I, as a gamer, might actually be interested in. Think Amazon special offers.

A subscription is also negotiable if they could come up with a value add for subscribers that is compelling. Again, maybe do retail deals for exclusive discounts with stores gamers might actually shop at.
