I use my PC for everything except for multiplayer games that I plan to play with friends and console exclusives.

Also, Chess is a game of skill much like all gameplay only video games. So it is pretty mindless if you think about it.-mtjormitch

About the same for me, I'm the only one of my friends with a nice PC and a good enough Internet connection to download whatever game I want. My only other friend with a nice pc only has one of those 3G mobile hotspots which is good enough for online MP usually but it doesn't really have the bandwidth required to regularly download games. The only PC game he's played since moving into that house has been LoL.

PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy. http://www.steamgamesales.com/

Simple. If its multiplat I get the console version. I have more friends and family on it and I get the trophies. Plus it generally has more players on the consoles. But if its a game that's heavily moddable, I might get both PC and console version.
