Metro Last Light $15. Should I get it?

#1TheWarhammeronlPosted 10/27/2013 10:12:26 AM
I loved Metro 2033, the setting, the graphics, and just the overall feel of the game.

I have had my eye on metro last light since it came out, but I wanted it to get a little cheaper.

How is it?

Worth $15.

It's pretty good. At least as good as 2033.

It's like 2033, only better. Get it if you enjoyed the 1st one, because they took the best elements of the first game, removed the clunkiness, and added better stealth mechanics.

It's better optimized than the 2033 too, but the game is still visually demanding. It pays off with absolutely beautiful graphics though.

I'm playing it right now.

It's fantastic. If you liked 2033, get LL for 15$.

I liked the last metro. I mean, it was not fantastic gameplay-wise, but the overall ambiance and design of the game made it worth playing through. Picking this up. Thanks op.

It severely lacked the intense horror elements of the first game though. Almost all of M:LL focused on Human vs Human conflict of interest or morality with maybe some monsters mixed in.

True but to be honest that is the more interesting part of the game. Monsters all try to eat and kill you with no real motive. Human conflict tends to run a little deeper and rarely is due to straight up survival. Also the 'shrimps' have a few decent moments as well as some bear like animals. Its true that you do a lot of navigation in human areas but there are plenty of uninhabited areas with spiders and other creatures. Its probably pretty close to being the same ratio as the first game really.

As for my recommendation? Definitely worth 15 dollars. I paid full price at release and don't regret it at all. Very interesting 'what if' scenario and the atmosphere is realized in a way that so very few games can manage. I spent several hours just hovering around other npc's listening to their conversations and I loved every minute of it. The shooting and stealth mechanics are pretty good but those aren't the main appeal of the game imo. You really should try and play the game with as few breaks as possible to really become immersed in the games world.

Worth $15? It's worth the full price. The game is excellent.

Why are PC gamers so damn cheap an unappreciative? (in response to TS)

Because a lot of us already have a lot of games in our backlog, some that will probably never be played or completed, so we don't want to make a purchase that continues that trend?
