A phenom will rarely fall to less than 40 fps, 60 in all but the most CPU demanding games (Rome 2 total war and crysis 3 spring to mind)

GW2 is a very CPU bound game. Pretty much any online-centric game is. I'd suggest upgrading to an i5, then replacing the GPU afterwards. You could probably get away with a cheaper $100 gpu upgrade, too.

If you're into MMO type games, then get the CPU upgrade first.

Your CPU will hold you back in online games, period. You cannot get a CPU that can consistently maintain over 100fps in most MMOs, much less a junky Phenom.

As someone with a 4GHz Phenom II, upgrade your CPU first. It's much more important. A 7850, you can lower settings to get higher framerates. A Phenom II will simply not hit those high framerates in a lot of software.

the phenom will still work great in single player games but will be horrible for multiple player games
