Ok, so I bought Arma 3... I don't see the appeal.

"hey guize, did u kn0w itz 2004 and wikipedia iz n0t a g0od zource!?21/!?"

Wikipedia was never a good source. You know how anyone can edit them? Plus, like TimePharoah said, tactical shooters don't equal sims. Two totally different worlds. But you should know this already. And, if you're the expert (which you obviously think you are), why did you post on here? If you're such a genius, why couldn't you just do the simple thing and just junk it?

Did you even read any of my other points? I mean, come on, I didn't type up all that for nothing. Atleast give me something back, something to chew on. You know, that way I can spit it back at you? Red Orchestra has nothing to do with this topic lol.

"It's a sim" excuse does not hold up. The fact that you said Arma 3 isn't a FPS means you aren't worth debating with.

And Wikipedia holds up, somehow? No...you need to leave. There's a door. No, to your left. Your other left. There you go. Now leave.

In Arma, you can switch between 3rd person and 1st person. Therefore, it is not an FPS.

I rest my case.

So you won't answer the question, which shows that I was right.

Wow...is that...you're really going to resort to that? You're serious? This isn't even a good topic anymore. Not even funny. When a troll can't even be a good troll, it's time to move on. Honestly, you broke my heart.

Exactly. You refuse to answer because you know you'll look foolish.

This topic sucks. I haven't played Arma 3 but I do know Arma 2 had horrible mechanics. Being a sim isn't an excuse for having horrible mechanics and controls. If Arma controlled well, it might be great but most people aren't willing to adapt to the awful controls.

This has to be a troll topic.

He is defining how a game should be played based on its perspective and partially due to its genre (not in its entirety).

Just because it is an FPS, doesn't mean every FPS has to be played the same. By your logic, every platformer should play like Super Mario, and every Adventure should play like The Legend of Zelda. I'm afraid to find out what your sport genre would play like.

Yes, the game can be described as a sim. You argue that if it is a sim, then it should mean you die once and should be no boundaries. Why do you respawn and why are there boundaries? Because in the end, it is still a game.

Arma III will not play like your typical FPS because that's the route they took. If they wanted it to play like CoD, they would have made it play like CoD (and maybe even call it CoD). If they wanted it to play like Battlefield, they would have done so. But why didn't they? Because they wanted to create their own path using the FPS genre. It's not CoD, it's not Battlefield, it's not Crysis or Borderlands or any other FPS. It's Arma, and it is what it is.
