Nvidia forced to drop GTX 780 and 770 pricing

#1Oh_Boy_Posted 10/28/2013 5:22:28 AM
780 will be $550(still too much, the 290X and 290 are faster. the 290 will be $450.

the 770 has dropped by $50, and that needs to go down more as well, the 280X is better than the 770 for less money evena fter price drop.

Disappointing drops but ultimately not surprising at all.

I will wait for the 700 TI editions.

A welcome and expected, albeit a bit disappointing, "news".

Maybe BF will offer a deal.

Aren't the 8xx series coming out Q1? I'm waiting for that, I usually skip one gen ( 2xx, 4xx, 6xx ).

You can buy a $500 console and a $500 computer and have two crap machines, or you can spend $1000 building your own computer and have the best of both worlds.

The prices already start to go down right here as well. Never seen a titan go below that price.

No, I think they said the Maxwell series is going to be late 2014 the earliest. Otherwise, they won't bother with 780ti at all.

Assuming Maxwell is 20nm, it will come out Q2 at the very earliest as TSMC is only beginning production of 20nm chips in Q1. A fall 2014 release seems more likely.

In the article you posted, says 780 will be $499
