On sale at Newegg for 60bucks. Is it worth it or should I wait for a Western Digital sale?

The wait for FF XIV: ARR may literally kill me.

I usually wait for WD but lately I am so paranoid about HDDs because there are always a handful of reviews saying the drives died after a few months.

Nothing is perfect, so of course there's going to be one or two people who get defective HDDs even if they buy what is considered the best. That's what warranties are for. Anyway, I'd say go for it TC. I've had a 1tb Barracuda for over a year now, and haven't had any problems. My only complaint is that it's a bit slow sometimes, but then again I have like 500gbs worth of stuff on it so it's probably because of that.

Hmm, I bought the SSD 120GB drive on sale 80$ to use as a OS and for new games that come out. However, Im still debating on buying that 1TB for my extra games.

Whats the difference between the red, black and green drives? :O

My Seagate is going fine, over a year old. That should tell you something.

It's basically hit or miss with hard drives. Some come DOA, some last for a bit, others last forever.

Random failures are random. That shouldn't need to tell you anything. Never seen any brand that didn't have as many horror stories as tales of life above and beyond the expected MTBF other than the old IBM Deathstars. I'd take a Barracuda over that green **** WD sells as "mainstream" any day.
