How Often Does Dishonored Go On Sale?

#1Metsfan5162Posted 10/28/2013 12:36:51 PM
Hey guys, you may remember me from a topic yesterday discussing which games to try on the PC. It pretty much came down to Bioshock Infinite and Dishonored (and another game seemed interesting but it involved modding and I have no idea how that works)

Anyway I want to give this game a try, not a huge stealth fan, but it looks like it should be fun. If there's one thing I noticed since I built this PC is that games go on sale all the time

So should I buy it? Or do you guys think I should wait to see if it will come on sale soon, not willing to wait TOO long

It'll almost certainly be on sale during the christmas sale season

Too long, might just dish out the money and play now. I know Bioshock's ending so it makes me not want to play it.

Any last words from anyone on the game? Pro/Con

I care most about story, heard this one's pretty good

Don't be dissuaded from playing Bioshock just because you know the ending. The meaning of the ending itself will probably change after playing through the game. Hell, the game itself changes when playing through a second time after you know the ending.

Plus, everything that happens inbetween from intro to ending is worth experiencing.

Dishonored's story is quite forgettable. It has a great setting, but doesn't seem to know what to do with it. It has one awesome character who tags along for most of the game, but that doesn't make the overall plot any less bland.

Bioshock is definitely better story wise and, as explained above, knowing the ending doesn't matter much.

There's usually a Steam Halloween sale. Dishonored might be in on it. It has a dlc featuring witches, that's good enough, right?

Bleh, so conflicted, usually I just do what I want and not ask the board's opinion, but I can't seem to find the best game to play

All the most popular PC games that are available on multi platforms, I've played already

Well, then play the PC exclusive titles like Starcraft 2, Civilization V, the Total War series, Sins of a Solar Empire, Dungeons of Dredmor, Don't Starve and countless other quality indie titles etc. There are more than a few quality games out there if you're willing to look.

If you're tight on cash might as well wait 2 days and see if its on halloween sale. If not, buy it?

I saw it in a fairly decent sale last week via a popular legit online retailer, it was still just a Steam key so you just have the added step of registering the key... Though I'm not sure if the DLC were also discounted... Either way, personally I'm holding out for a cheap complete edition.
