Not everyone has a blu-ray reader in their PCs.

It is a 24 GB game after all. Considering that Bluray isn't mainstream yet and most PC users don't even use a Bluray Disk Drive in their PC's it only makes more sense for them to release the game on a DVD instead. Give it another 5 years and the DVD Drive will be a thing of the past like a cd-drive is today.

Depends on your internet speed. Granted it's on Origin and not Steam, but using Steam as an example, it would take me about 68 minutes on my 50Mb connection since Steam will max me out at 6+ MB/S. Considering I wouldn't have to drive to the store and have to pay for both gas and tax in addition to the opportunity cost of my time spent in doing so, it's a win win situation to just download.

I'm lucky enough to get around 30 MB/s when downloading from Steam. Took me like 10 minutes to install Outlast and Just Cause 2.

God damn. I cap out at around 2.5 MB/s. Living in America is suffering sometimes.

Unless you've got Google Fiber, I think you have the size of your "B" mistaken.
