Basement flooded.

Amazingly, didn't wreck the machine.

My CD drive set by Baldur's Gate 2 CD of fire. I don't know how or why, but the drive suddenly started making weird noises and smoke came out of it. When I took the CD out, its bottom side was completely scorched.

Was having problems getting my computer to boot, and I thought it might be my video card. I power it down and take the side off, and as I'm pulling the GPU out the computer boots up for what ever reason so I'm standing there holding my GPU while it's still half hooked up and making contact with all kinds of parts like the motherboard and CPU. Luckily nothing happened from it beyond scaring me, but from then on I remembered to turn off the PSU as well when doing anything to it. That's the part that made me the maddest is that I ALWAYS turned off the PSU every other time =/

Hmmm kind of nothing out of the ordinary. I had parts fail on me once or twice, but it was never my fault and always within warranty.

From 2003-2006 I would put my machine in checked luggage when I flew home to attend lan parties. Nothing ever got damaged.
