Does anyone else's think Steam's controller is a bust?

It's cool looking, but it'd be nice to have some kind of molded D-pad like the console controllers so you get a feel of the movement.... otherwise the controller is similar to having a keyboard, but as a touchpad.

Couldn't tell ya, I haven't used one yet.

It's not even actually out yet. How can it "be a bust" before it's been released?

Also, how can a completely modular, "hackable" controller be a bust? If you want a true D-pad, wait a few months after release - I bet someone will make one for it. Swap out for thumbsticks? Bet that's coming in short order too.

I'm actually very curious to try it out. I don't think it'll really be great for online shooters, but I also don't see that as exactly the point.

How could it be considered a bust before it's even commercially available?

I'd have to use it before I could come to that conclusion.

It sounds really interesting, I do like the idea of being able to play Civ V from my recliner. I'm more interested in the Steam controller then the PS4 and XB1 controllers.
