Steam games are disappearing

#1Shah138Posted 10/30/2013 2:44:59 PM
I'm missing a bunch of Steam games in my library. I recently reinstalled Windows 7 and I was looking through my library and a lot are just gone. They're still in the account section of Steam but not the library so I can't install them. I just uninstalled Fallout 3 GOTY and then it vanished. Whats going on?

There's been quite a few people with issues the past few days. I still haven't been able to download a game I bought from the Halloween sale yesterday.

Support says they are working on it. You could try contacting them and see if they have a fix, otherwise going to have to wait.

Alright cool

As a sidenote I've tried restarting steam and deleting clientregistry.blob but that doesn't work

Do you have the column set to only show installed games? It will say "Installed" next to the search bar in the library. Click "Installed" and change it to "All Games."

Try going to the page for the game; it'll say something like "You already own this game" and there'll be a "Play Game" button. By clicking on it I was able to install my Halloween sale games that way even though they didn't appear in Steam.

I recently had this problem with a game I purchased from the Halloween sale. I had to contact Steam support to get it fixed, this is the solution that worked for me.

Exit steam and type "steam://flushconfig" into your browser (without the quotes) and press enter. When the prompt appears, press "OK" to reset your Steam configuration. Log into Steam and see if your games now appear.

If you have multiple installation folders for games, doing the above might remove them. You will have to add the folders again in Steam so that your games will appear as installed.

To add the folders:

1. Click Steam > Settings
2. Go to the "Downloads" tab.
3. Click the "Steam Library Folders" button.
4. Click on "Add Library Folder" and add the directory that contains your games
5. Click "OK" to save the setting and restart the Steam client.

Thanks CJF, I did the "steam://flushconfig", reset, and logged in and they all came back.
