So I recently attempted to uninstall Internet Explorer, which led to some odd results.

Completely skipping over the file that both renames itself and rewrites itself into a new file format every time you try to delete it, Windows Explorer will now open every folder in a new window unless I right click on it and hit "Open".

This is, of course, very strange, because when I right click and hit open it opens normally, and "Open in the same window" is checked in Folder Settings. Any possible solutions, PC board? I've googled around and found nothing of any use.

How did you attempt to uninstall it? You don't just attempt to uninstall things. You either uninstall it properly through Turn Windows Features on or off or you attempt to uninstall it by blindly nuking program files you don't understand and messing things up.

The Microsoft website told me to go to Add/Remove Progams --> Windows Updates --> IE9, which then reverted it to IE8, which I then went through Windows Features to get rid of.

But that didn't work so I then blindly nuked the program files and messed things up.
