If portables count, 3DS. Otherwise, PS1.

The original Xbox had a large sum of great games, but not many people played them. It's very sad.

Ninja Gaiden Black was an amazing game.

PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy. http://www.steamgamesales.com/

Does it count if you enjoy ps2 way more playing on pcsx2 rather than the actual console?

NES.

While the 2600 was my first console, I'd say the NES was more formative for me as a gamer. (particularly my love for RPG's)

PS2 and PS1 I think. Current gen lack of great JRPG as good as PS1&2 era.

1. NES, a huge game library and plenty of timeless classics and hidden gems.
2. PS3 it's everything I want from a modern console and this gen is freaking awesome.
3. SNES there are still some games I go back to but not as much as the NES.
4. Genesis a smaller game library then SNES but it did have some kick ass exclusives.
5. Wii there were some grade A games on the Wii like Mario Galaxy 2, DK Country Returns, and Punch-Out that will never get old.

Gameboy. (GB SP - over 15 years of gaming in your hand!)

Some of the best home consoles are generally the moddable ones. (Wii, XBOX, PS2, etc.)

If we're going for just the console based on its library, feel, and no backwards compatability, then I gotta go with the classic Nintendo Entertainment System. The Dreamcast and Saturn follow.
