Why do PC gamers have such a problem with people who don't build their own PC?

You wouldn't perform surgery on yourself, would you?

No, but building a PC is much more like putting together Lego pieces that only fit one possible way than performing a surgical procedure on yourself, so that's a pretty weak analogy.

because if you buy a $3000 alienware, its basically the same as taking $1000 and lighting it on fire

Obviously. That's how they make all those glowing lights.

If you want a preb-built PC, why not just get a PS3? Same ****ing thing.

A pizza is going to take me 1 hour to make ,for what? just a few minutes to eat it? While a Pc will give you months of entertainment...also to build a house you need extensive knowledge and most of the time you need to hire professional help while building a PC all you need to do is watch a 1 hour video and bam you know how to build one.

You can watch any video tutorial on anything and know how to do it by the end. All food can take an hour to make. Most food that isn't cereal, toast, or raw vegetables take several hours to make. A proper meal does not happen in a few minutes, yet consuming can. Does that mean we should all eat out on a nightly basis and pay twice/thrice the price plus tips for what it costs at the grocery store?

Stir-fried chicken and veggies and chow mein noodles, sauce prepared in-pan with meat. 20 minutes tops

I personally don't have issues with PC gamers that don't build their own PC.

Granted I build all my own PC's, and other people ask me to do it for them, but the thing is the hard part is figuring what parts to buy, assemble things correctly, and should something go wrong, figure out how to trouble shoot the bloody thing.

The hardest part about building PC's is when things go wrong, not when things go smoothly.

When something goes wrong, do you have all the parts you need to trouble shoot, do you have the knowledge / skill to figure out what component or piece in your setup went wrong?

Is it software, hardware?

Etc.

When somebody doesn't have much experience building a PC, and they try it themselves, they usually ask me to watch over them.

So I quietly watch over them and correct all their mistakes.

It's funny to see them get fans pointing in the wrong direction, or not have any idea where everything goes.
