This is the one I'm leaning toward. From everything I've seen, it seems to be the best choice. I'm currently using a 23.6" ASUS 1080p from about 4 years ago, so it's definitely becoming outdated. It still functions just fine though so I want to get a bigger, higher res display for it to be a meaningful upgrade (it wouldn't be worth it to get a screen the same size just for higher contrast and better colors). So yeah I'm pretty sure I want the Dell Ultrasharp, but my only concern is, is there any new monitor technology coming out soon that I should be aware of? $600 for a monitor is a pretty big investment so I'd rather hold out if there's something new and exciting coming out.
As for extras, 3D and touchscreen are cool enough, I'd use them if I had them, but they're not essential and better performance is much more important for me. I am a big PC gamer, but I haven't had much time to play games with school, so I need something versatile that'll be good for multitasking, reading journals, etc.
Any advice? Should I hold out or go ahead and buy that one? (well I'll wait a month to see if there are any bf or cm deals, so I'll be buying it then) --- Some say that his voice can only be heard by cats, and that he has two sets of knees... all we know is, he's called the Stig.

Eh, I don't want to get a generic one. The IPS monitors are known to have QC issues so I'd rather get the Dell with a 3 year warranty that I know they'll honor. My main concern isn't the price, it's if there are better performing monitors out or on their way within the next year. --- Some say that his voice can only be heard by cats, and that he has two sets of knees... all we know is, he's called the Stig.
