Anyone here use a Corsair gaming case?

#1EternalNetherPosted 11/1/2013 6:05:30 AM
I'm eyeballing the Corsair Obsidian 550D. I want to build a new PC since mine is about 3 years old and the parts I used were only mid-tier even back then. Problem is I don't know much about Corsair's cases. I know they make great RAM and PSU....

Corsair doesn't actually make the PSUs, they use a couple different manufacturers who vary in quality.

/nitpick

Their cases are pretty great, though. The 650D and 500R are glorious.

Or RAM for that matter =p
But yeah, their cases are nice.

Well, I phrased it poorly. More so meant that "corsair" isn't really something you should identify as a PSU brand since they use different manufacturers. At least with someone like XFX you know you're getting Seasonic PSUs or whatever.

Of course, I also have no idea if they use different manufacturers for RAM. So it could apply too.

Far as I know Corsair doesn't sell anything that isn't at least decent, and pretty much all of their cases I've seen have been solid. I know I like my 600T

I have the 550D and it's a pretty sweet case. I wouldn't really call it a "gaming" case though. The 550D focuses more on aesthetics and acoustics.

Had the 400R. Loved that it had a handle, but wanted to go smaller. I love my 350D. Perfect size for my room. Pretty much looks just like the 800D and 900D except it's a mini version.

I have the 500R and love it. The size I wanted, great cable management and plenty of space even after installing a water cooling setup. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

As always though, just because one type is good doesn't mean they all are. Be sure to research the specific case you are looking at before making up your mind.
