Hi, I'm just wondering if the PS3 controller works like the XBOX360 controller where I just connect it to my laptop for it work. Thanks in advance.

It works but it's not plug and play like a 360 wired controller is. You have to download a program and manually map your buttons. MotioninJoy is the one most people use, but theres others too.

Plug in the PS3 remote use motionjoy to emulate a 360 remote. And you're all set.

Once it's setup you don't have to worry about starting a program or being online for it to work.

Although I believe it's similar I recommend doing this instead as it's a bit easier and less programs to deal with - http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller
