I was gonna get a new card but I think I'll wait for Gsync. It would be kind of dumb to get one now.

I got my 4GB GTX 770 for $280 from a private seller and my god it's beautiful. Here's the one I have:

It's a fantastic card and I can downsample up to 3200 x 1800 @ 30fps in most games with a setting or two turned down without OCing yet.

Just save your money since the Nvidia 800 series comes out next year.

Neither is that significant of an upgrade from a 570. I'd either wait, or increase your budget.

Are you on crack?

Disclaimer, the second comparison uses the 7970GHz as a stand in due to the lack of Anandtech implementing the r9 280x into GPU 2013 yet. However, they are equivalent cards if nothing else.

wait until December..
i am being serious, if Mantle proves to be worth it. get the 280x if not, get the 770.
at the moment the 770 beats the 280x, thats without including PhysX and game recording..

if you are buying one THIS week, then get the 7970 GHZ, its on sale for 299$ on NCIX, and its the same as the 280x but instead it comes with the bundle "Never Settle" Gold and the 280x comes with the silver one.

if you will wait, then wait till december and look at mantle, if it isn't proving what it needs to prove, then either go with 770, or 780..

I have a 560Ti right now.

My original plan was to get a GTX 780 Lightning, but since the Lightning edition didn't come out for a while I held off. I'm glad that I did. I'm now just going to wait for the 800 series, and if the price and performance of those cards don't satisfy me then I can choose from these AMD cards (or wait for their own new series).

The waiting game is definitely a balancing act since tech is always improving, but really there hasn't been a big graphical change yet to really justify the graphics card update. I'll wait and see how it is once a year of the new consoles has gone by.

Not so much a big graphical change as a pretty significant fps performance upgrade on the most demanding games... Even my 680 struggles with Last Light, Crysis 3, BF4 @ 1080p. I'm sure a 560ti has problems maxing quite a bit more than those games. I just want a card that I can slide everything to max... everything... and still keep a solid 60fps @1080p
