Just wondering, since everyone is always talking about Nvidia this, AMD that, fps AA AF and resolution, how about the audio experience? What are you guys using, how do you like it so far, are you planning to upgrade soon in the future, what do you have your eyes on?

Polk speakers hooked up to a pioneer receiver. Love my receiver, thinking about upgrading my speakers.

This. They have a decent amount of oomph for the price.

Which particular speakers do you use, is this a 2.0 or 2.1 or 5.1 setup?
Do you need a sound card to take advantage of Dolby Digital or DTS?

I work with audio, and am extremely, extremely picky about it. So, let's just say that my audio setup is infinitely better than my video setup, with the likes of Sonus Faber speakers (7.2), Rotel amps and A/V receiver, etc.

I'm pretty happy with it, and the next step will be upgrading to an HDMI 2.0 A/V receiver probably next year.

The stuff in my living room is much better, but this is adequate for my PC use.

Right now I'm using Pioneer's FS-51 floorstanding speakers and the sub from the same series along with a Denon 1912 receiver. I've been thinking of getting the center channel and surround speakers, but I'd have to mount the surrounds to the ceiling and the wiring could get a little tricky. I was keeping a small budget, but they sound much better than just my TV's speakers for movies, PS3 games, and my PC, and a huge part of that is the bass response which is especially gratifying while playing Battlefield and the like(not to mention you can't miss a focus attack in SF4 with that bass).
