I have a 7950 and it's been superb, but the 760 will have Physx and longer support/driver improvement, so I'd go for that.

even tho the 7950 is 384bit and the 760 is 256bit, the 7950 came out january 2012 while 760 july 2013

performance fps comparisons show both cards are neck to neck with 760 having 2fps higher at times..one is cheaper than the other as well

The 7950 is the better card easily, but $300 is a terrible price for one. That's 7970/280X price range.

sold 780 sli setup for good money, i want a cheaper card for the time being until 800 series releases..the 290x card is good but i'll wait for more next gen

I have seen the 3GB 7970 for around 250. There are some for 280 right now on newegg. That would be the better deal.

What about the MSI 760 Hawk? A bit more expensive but I think you can get two games with it.
