Whats up with Indies and their 8bit lazyness?

Great so thats the reason for the lazyness, because they know people will buy their crap...

while great artists that put great effort like in this example:

don't sell.

See there you go again, assuming it MUST be laziness, a word you can't seem to spell, and can't get it through your head that some do it because they like the look. I'm sorry this shocking revelation that your personal taste that it looks lazy isn't held by the rest of the world is rocking your world view, but get over yourself.

Seriously man, stop whining so much. People like retro looking games. That doesn't make it lazy. Stop whining childishly about them.

Seriously why in hell? Are they still stuck in the 1980s? I mean can't they make their sprites not 8bit?

This is decent/good 2D graphics:

This is not:

So...if that is "decent", why is this easily one of THE worst port/game in the ENTIRE franchise?:

See I'm going to accept your correction, because English isn't my first language and yes I will make mistakes, but I like going forward and improve, not holding myself back.

Maybe because it wasn't ported correctly?

What game is that?

Muramasa.

Okay, found your problem. It didn't sell because it's on the Wii.

Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican.

Firstly it was a remake made specifically for the iOS
Secondly, despite the fact that it was made by a large company, the animation and graphics are STILL subpar.

Yes, it didn't sell because it was on a popular system. Yup. Nothing to do with being a niche game without much in the way of advertising. Right. Can't have been of the things that hold a lot of original IPs back or games that only really spread by word of mouth.

Yup. Can't have anything to do with games made by that developer never really sell any better then Muramasa did.

Oh wait, this is reality. Vanillaware has made one game that sold close to the same amount. Odin Sphere. Their games don't sell well no matter what system they're on.

So, being a big company doesn't mean anything? I mean look at Infinity Ward, well known developers and huge budget, yet they can't make something good out of that, all the Ghosts versions have problems, and the graphics still look bad.

Either way, thats actually effort, not just cashcows like those pixelated retro games (with a few exceptions).

It's a design decision, and it can work well. For me, it doesn't matter.

It's also a budget decision. Low res sprites are easier to draw, therefore take fewer man-hours. If you're working a full-time job and doing a project on the side, having "awesome graphics" isn't a top priority.

Also, that second screen isn't 1980s. That's around 93-95, and would put it in the Genesis/SNES era (16 Bit).
