Oh wait, this is reality. Vanillaware has made one game that sold close to the same amount. Odin Sphere. Their games don't sell well no matter what system they're on.

Dragon's Crown sold pretty well if I recall.

It's sold pretty well so far but as I mentioned before I'm not counting it due to being only a few months old. Maybe it'll keep selling well and pass Muramasa in sales, maybe it'll just kind of peter out next month. Who knows.

A few days before it was released in USA it was supposedly their best selling game - http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2013/08/03/dragons-crown-becomes-vanillawares-best-selling-game-moves-300k-in-japan/

I've heard 32Bit 2D is in some cases tougher to make than 3D depending on how fluid the animation is.

Oh, you thought they made this game for you? You clearly bought the wrong game.

What game is that?

Muramasa.

Okay, found your problem. It didn't sell because it's on the Wii.

Wasn't the Wii the highest selling console last gen...>_>

1)not everyone concept of nice/ugly is the same. 2)I like game depending on the gameplay itself way more then the visuals 3)I don't really like comparing game to each other unless both are being very similar.

It's awful when the "8-bit" graphics have far more colors than any 8-bit machine could display simultaneously. Bigger pixels means lower resolution, which means lower production costs. That's all there is to it.

Seriously why in hell? Are they still stuck in the 1980s? I mean can't they make their sprites not 8bit?

This is decent/good 2D graphics:

This is not:

So...if that is "decent", why is this easily one of THE worst port/game in the ENTIRE franchise?:

Its bad because the animations are choppy as f***, the frame rate is bad, the levels are split into sections instead of you being able to run straight through them, and the layout is bad. The graphics themselves are that bad, although its missing style

And ask any pixel artist whats lazier; hand drawing every possible animation with every possible load out, or the copy/paste that is 3d rendering.

Don't do that, you sound foolish and ignorant
