What is a decent, cheap microphone for game chat?

All I need is a decent mic for CSGO that won't break the bank. Anybody have experience with cheap but decent mics?

What are you looking for? Clip on mic? Mic you can attach to head phones with ties or whatrever? Desktop mic?

The Zalman mics are cheap and decent.
Modmic is in the $30 range I think and is better than Zalman.

To get better than a mod mic you need to get desktop condenser mics like the Blue Snowball and Blue Yeti.

I'll get made fun of, but I recommend Turtle Beach X12s. It's an entire headset, not just a mic. But for $50-$60 they're fairly good. And depending on which version you buy, you can use it for your 360 or PS3 too, if you have one.

They have pretty good sound quality and the mic quality is fairly good. Only problem I have is that when the mic is turned on, when you have the volume on the speakers turned up you'll get a hissing sound. But you kinda have to turn the volume up high for that to be a bother.

They're pretty garbage actually.

TC, you can get a Labtec LVA 7330 from ebay for around $10 or a Deal Xtreme clip-on mic for about $3 (it might take almost a month to actually reach you though).

I'm basically looking for a clip on mic or stand alone mic since I already have a pair of earbuds I use use while playing CSGO.

Labtec might work but is $20 from Amazon (my paypal account is locked down for still requiring verification), and DX can take AGES to get anywhere.

If a product is garbage, label it as such. It deserves no praise,

I think I come off as rude when I call everything that isn't at least a Blue Snowball garbage :)

I've used one since 2009. People in vent, ingame (CS 1.6, CSGO) and skype can hear me just fine. It does have some feedback though so make sure you use push to talk.

Sample of quality so I'm not bull****ing. http://www.mediafire.com/?4x0104q900e8hoq

I'd just say that you have unrealistically high standards. There are a few alternatives to the Zalman that don't do anything noticeably wrong and work perfectly fine for everyday use. Garbage implies something is trash and not worth using at all.
