I've noticed that Valve has made a lot missteps lately.

Firstly no Halloween event for Dota 2 and now a game was removed from users account without being notified, Both which were the result of poor communication. Its funny to see a big company like Valve not have a PR firm, maybe they have started to became complacent.

Why is a Halloween event necessary for DOTA 2? It's not like it's Guild Wars or something where an "event" makes a bit of sense.

And how is "lack of communication" related to them simply not holding an event?

And what game was removed? A paid-for game?

So there was a news article on Steam and people weren't notified? How does that make sense. Also, it's a Square-Enix game. That's not Steam/Valve's problem.

Oh my god get over it. This overreaction solidifies my decision to not play those crappy MOBA games.

You people didn't even like Diretide. You just liked getting a ton of free crap.

Really you want to crucify a company for not supporting a game that no one plays? Makes a lot of sense to me...

Yep... major misstep there. A multiplayer aspect of a game nobody was playing was shut down because nobody was playing it, and the multiplayer-only segment of the game was removed because without servers, it was useless. I suppose they *could* have left it listed in the library and just popped up an error any time someone tried to run it that the servers were no longer available due to no one playing. Is that really preferable to removing it tho? And the only part that was removed was Challenge - Order of War is still up, still for sale, and still playable in SP.

What sort of communication might have prevented this from happening? An e-mail to everyone telling them they'd better start playing or they'll lose the multiplayer part?
