660 Ti to 680 a good upgrade?

#1Koga316Posted 11/8/2013 2:02:59 PM
Found a open box EVGA 02G-P4-2680-KR GeForce GTX 680 2048MB GDDR5 680 for $300 and thinking about grabbing it. Is that good enough upgrade thats worth it?

Also, would I need to upgrade my PSU? I'm currently using a Corsair CX600

For that price, you should be looking into 280x or 770. either way, though, I wouldn't say it's worthwhile for $300.

No, it is not. You should wait unless you're planning on jumping into top of the line.

I thought 680 was really good. o_O

You're looking at about 20 - 25% better performance with the 680 vs the 660ti.

I wouldn't spent $300 for such a small upgrade
If you were able to sell the 660ti for, say, $150 - $200 then maybe but I personally would still find it difficult to justify the money for such a small upgrade.

I may sell it but one of the fans makes a loud noise when it gets to a certain speed so selling it may be difficult.

It's an open box card that's priced at about what it's worth new.

The card is good but the performance jump you'd be getting is not very big.

Then what would be a good upgrade?

Get the 770 if you're willing to spend that much on a new card. It outperforms the 680 by a bit and comes with three free games.
