Does video quality on youtube really change sound quality?

post a video where you can't tell the difference between 144p and 1080p

I'm just listening to the first 15 or so seconds repeatedly in different qualities. Not really noticing a difference.

I've always imagined it's like frames per second or field of view. Some people can tell the difference, some people can't.

But there is a difference in the audio even if you can't hear it. makes sense that there's a difference, no point putting in a low resolution if you still have to stream a bunch of info because the audio is the same.

there's not much of a difference, but it could be because there's no video, so the audio doesn't suffer from reduced bitrate that much, if at all

Oh, I see. I've been testing it on lyrics videos and videos like the one I linked there. I'll test it on actual music videos later.

The difference between 360p and 480p is the one I can notice more.

Yeah, I always stream YT vids in HD even if I'm just listening to it in the background because I can definitely tell the difference in quality.

I've definitely noticed the difference before. It can be subtle at times, but it's there.

no one can see over 480p of sound

There is no difference between 480p and 1080p in sound unless you sit a foot away.
