Anyone have BF4 on an SSD?

IF so, are the load times fast? Right now on a WD Black Drive, it takes forever. Thinking of moving it over to my SSD

hey xeeh

I have heard it dramatically improves the ridiculous loading times of BF4. For example, you will actually be able to get a vehicle at the start of a match

So I take it as a rather large improvement because it wasn't that big of a deal in BF3, it was faster but it wasn't like a huge improvement.

Right now these load times suck d***

I know man, and I would like to think its just another problem with BF4 as opposed to it having long loading times in general. From what I have heard from my friends this game does well with an SSD but I would hold my breath for now. Give it another two weeks or so and see where we are at in terms of bugs and laggy servers. From my own experience the times it takes to load varies greatly, so who knows what really is the issue

My next upgrade will be an SSD and I plan to put BF4 on it but for now I hope it improves. I am surprised though, I have seen you post about your rig on here and I would think you had an SSD.

I do have an SSD, I just don't use it for games

I went back and read your original post, and saw you have an SSD. I felt like an idiot, so I edited my post hoping you hadn't seen it already >_<

well, its small ssd.. only 64gb.. I have enough room for now but with map expansions and what not.. not happening but if it performs well enough I'll just buy a new ssd and leave it on it

I have BF4 installed onto a(n) SSD, usually the first to load - all the vehicles are empty for me!

I just gave up and ran the game on a lower resolution and the load times DRAMATICALLY were improved to just a few seconds. I do not have a SSD by the way.

Load times on my Intel Cherryville SSD are decent but nowhere near as fast as they were on BF3.

I'd guess it takes around 20-30 seconds to load the maps in BF4.

BF3 maps used to load in about 10 seconds.

From what I can tell I'm usually one of the first couple people to spawn in on my team.
