"We strongly want to get into Linux for a reason," Gustavsson said. "It took Halo for the first Xbox to kick off and go crazy — usually, it takes one killer app or game and then people are more than willing [to adopt it] — it is not hard to get your hands on Linux, for example, it only takes one game that motivates you to go there."
Could Metro: Last Light be the one 'killer' game Gustavsson is talking about, along with Rome: Total War 2 and Project Cars? Only time will tell (and hopefully that the rumors about developers announcing big titles being ported over to Linux at CES 2014 are true)!
No sane company would release a Linux exclusive, since the average PC user wouldn't know how to install an alternate OS.

I call BS on this totally. First off Rome and Metro are already on PC (this "killer app" should probably be exclusive to make a difference) and no, an exclusive game, no matter how good it may be, will not push Linux into the spotlight.
I have love for Linux and it's role in computing but one video game ain't gonna solidify it as a viable alternative to Windows and OSX for most people. --- Stand up for consumer rights! Vote with your dollar! Boycott Xbox One!!!

Linux just needs to support all the current games and I will gladly switch over from Windows. --- In the chronicles of my life there is a legend in which I change 'history' into 'herstory'.

I think a SteamOS-exclusive Half-Life 3 is just about the only way this could happen. --- Currently playing: Crusader Kings 2 (PC), Rayman Origins (PC)
