Will Intel's integrated graphics surpass AMD's?

Or will they always be left in the dust?

They're too busy making their CPUs into CPUs.

Then why is their main focus improving their integrated graphics and power consumption?

They already have unless AMD has something I don't know about. The HD4600 is 90% as powerful as whatever GPU the A10-6800K uses, the HD5200 is twice as powerful as the HD4600. The HD5200 is only available in a handful of devices though.

It does seem like they're trying to appeal more to laptop users if both of those are their main concern. Probably wouldn't be limited to laptops as well.

If they were more concerned about power for the desktop users, they'd ditch both of those priorities.

So the HD5200 is basically a mythical creature. Meanwhile, AMD's Kaveri is right around the corner.

My laptop has an integrated graphics chip called HD 8550G and it uses a dedicated GPU as well HD 8750m 2GB GDDR5. I don't know how much better these are compared to an HD 4600 but this laptop plays FFXIV:ARR at 30-45 fps on low.

The 8550G is about the same as a 4600.

So you now want to know when Intel's low end integrated graphics chip outperforms AMD's best one?

My guess would be when Skylake comes out (2 years).
