i already use a widescreen hd tv for a monitor and it works great but i found that older games look bad on it. i'm thinking about getting a square monitor to use alongside my hdtv. thinking about spending in the $50-$200 range.

what kind of specs should i be looking for? aspect ratio etc? i'm not very knowledgeable about displays

This looks like a pretty good deal.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there

You can either buy something new in the 17"-19" range that will be overpriced, or look for a used monitor on Craigslist or eBay. You'll probably want something with a resolution of 1024x768, 1280x1024 or 1600x1200. Something like this:
-What is best in life?
-To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women.
