Indie games are great due to them being the only real innovation in gaming lately. However, I see WAY too few indie games really grab my attention and keep me playing them for long periods of time. It's usually that they have a lot of potential, but the resources just weren't there to realize that potential. If the idea had been put forth to a larger budget and/or more experienced game developer, then the game could have been something very special.

No. We need more games in the middle of AAA and indie that aren't considered failures even they go on to sell 5mil copies. I don't need games where half the budget is spent on advertising and the other half is spent on Hollywood voice actors. Don't go crazy with the budget, and put that money towards stuff that actually matters.

It'd be nice. Games that can realize their goals with a decent enough resource pool/backing to do well. But don't go so over-the-f***ing top with the budget that publishers have to rush deadlines and force insane restrictions/generalizations upon the game just so they can ship it quicker and sell more.
