Is there some URL UNshortener out there?

#1ThePlasmaStormPosted 11/11/2013 4:36:35 PM
Ever since url shorteners have been invented, people have been using them for malicious purposes. I'm to the point where I don't even click on them at all and prefer long links always.

But sometimes, my friend send me stuff through a shortener. Most of the time, it's a safe link. But there have been cases where their account has been hacked and a shortened link is malicious.

There are url unshorteners on the web out there but they aren't very helpful. For example, they only follow the link once. There are some links that link to another shortener (eg. t.co to bit.ly to goo.gl to etc) that they can't effectively solve.

Surely there must be a solution somewhere?

You know what... On second thought, I agree with cool dude... if you're that worried just ignore all those links and tell your friends to use a real man's URL if they want to send you something.... none of this pansy girly short stuff! (Flex)
