Here's a benchmark for the msata drive.

Here is my other laptop running a Vertex 4, and my desktop with an 840 pro.

The numbers sited on the sales sheet are much higher than the ones i'm getting (not this is with a properly configured os/drive, and an almost fresh install of win8.1 across all machines.

Here are hte benchmarks for the other two..

And even in the benchmarks they are quite close outside of the 4k random. Yet the msata feels just so damn slow. Boot times are still around 10-14 seconds..

Yep.

I also just ran a stopwatch with both laptops from a cold boot.

The vertex 4 boots me in 9.6 seconds to login screen

The mushkin took 25.42 seconds.

I updated the firmware and i'm down to just under 18 second boot times.

Not really a big increase in benchmark scores.

On a good note, my Orbweaver came in today, time to replace the nostromo with the superior clicky clicky of mechanical switches.

I thought all mSATA drives so far ran at SATA2 speeds and not SATA3 speeds. Are SATA3 SSDs able to saturate that?
