(Probably my last topic on here for a while) 3DS or PC?

Well, a gaming-capable PC is certainly going to cost you more, but you will have more options, then again the 3DS has some great games like 3D Land. Ideally you'd get them both at some point.

Since I'm afraid to make another topic because I will get people mad I'll ask my last question here: What parts do I need to make a really powerful gaming laptop?

You can't really "make" your own laptop, you can choose a model that has the CPU/GPU/screen etc. you want, but that's about it. Also, if you were to buy a laptop comparable to a decent gaming PC, it would of course be heavy, run hot, and cost 2-3x as much as the desktop for the same performance, so unless you REALLY need portability I'd recommend against it.

I'm thinking if it's between a 3DS and a PC, you wouldn't get a very good PC. So unless you want to play 10 year old games, I'd go with the 3DS.

A gaming laptop that will last you 3 years will probably cost about $1000 right now. You also won't be running games at their full settings (unless they're older games).

TC, why do you need a laptop? It'll cost a lot more than a desktop and, like the above poster said, it will get very hot while gaming. You can't build a laptop anyways.

OK, then I'll be forced to build a desktop instead. The thing that sucks about that is the fact I can't bring it to school with me :(.

A real gaming laptop wouldn't be good for school use anyways. It would have bad battery life and be heavy and bulky.

This. Gaming laptop is really only viable if you travel a lot and have access to internet and power. Get a cheap laptop. You may even to find a used one. I bought an old used one for $120. It's pretty slow but it runs windows 7 fine and was perfect for college. Then spend the extra money and get a decent desktop. You'll be glad you did.

wait till the steambox comes out if you really want some mobility in a small form factor without getting ripped off in the process.

I just thought of this: What OS: Windows 7 or 8?
