Help with new CPU and GPU

#1Rama_XPosted 11/12/2013 9:19:22 PM
Hi all, iam going to buy a new CPU and GPU for my new PC build. What i want is to be able to be gaming at a high level for the next, lets say, 4 or 5 years if possible (good resolution and 60 FPS at max settings).

CPU: I was thinking about this i7: http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-4770K-Quad-Core-Processor-BX80646I74770K/dp/B00CO8TBQ0

GPU: http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Radeon-Mini-Displayport-Graphics-GV-R797OC-3GD/dp/B00752QYLK

What do you guys think about this combo?? I think it is good for gameing, but iam a big noob compared to most of you here, so any help or advice is appreciated.

Man that card is so expensive from amazon

I just bought a Sapphire HD 7970 for only 175 haha.

CPU looks good though.

Wow really? Damn haha.

That was actually other thing i wanted to ask! Advice in shopping online!

Iam for Argentina, so the idea is to buy from Amazon, but i have never bought anything online before.. So any advice on good prices or in how to not get screwed over would be great!

Also iam willing to spend as much as 350 more or less on the GPU, so if you know of a better card from a reliable source in Amazon for that much please tell me!

Are you planning to get a new motherboard along with the 4770k? And have you considered a
r9 280x? It is virtually the same as a 7970 Ghz but at a slightly lower price. MSI, Sapphire, and Gigabyte all look to have some decent models.

And i will look up the R9 280X, but if i can get a better card for lets say 350 i may aim for that.

The 7970 can be gotten for less than $300 in a lot of places. Just check newegg and you will already see some much cheaper options.
