Planetside 2 optimized

#1OldSorrowPosted 11/13/2013 7:22:00 PM(edited)
They made an optimization patch. I gained about 30fps more. Those who were bothered with low fps, try the patch! I'm quite impressed so that's why I made this topic. Thank you!

AMDa10 5800k + 7870 =

(indar)
Ultra 35-40 fps average on heavy battles (100people+)
Ultra 45-55 fps <80 people battle
Ultra 60fps <24 people

(esamir)
ultra average 60fps <96 people battle

That's pretty good considering my cpu! Thank you again, take care.

The patch probably made the game better multithreaded. It was confirmed some months ago that those optimizations for the PS4 would carry over to the PC version

May finally let the game update so I can check this out. Not sure how much of a performance gain I will get with it since im running a i5 and if it's carry over from the ps4 optimization then surely it's for AMD cpu's.

You should be just fine. It was annoying before not being at 60fps, but it was still pretty well playable. And I managed a FPS boost from the patch.

I was on a few days ago and I wasn't able to get over 60 fps seemingly because of a cap. Is this true? Is there a 60 fps cap?

If it is based on the PS4 optimization, can we get someone with one of the 8 cores to take a look at their frame rate? Should gain a fair amount of FPS with this update!

As I remember my FPS Stayed around 45 to 55 90% of the time so yeah it was playable. I still have a i7 sitting on my desk that I plan to install eventually. probably do it before I get Assassins Creed Black Flag.

90% of my gaming consist of CS:Source and Team Fortress these days so im in no rush. I have my second GTX 670 disabled 99% of the time lol.

Yes it is now merciful even to low end systems

Although I must ask, is it still really that empty or am I looking at the map wrong? Sirisian says 800 people were on Mattherson when I was playing but the biggest battle "hotspot" was >only< 30~ NCR vs 20~ Vanu
