No, don't do this.


He's got a point. New things come out all of the time, especially with GPUs and prices change a lot. Particularly now with AMD blowing it out with their 290xs. So what you get now may be good, but a few months down the road you might be able to get something better for a better price.

But if you have to space it, then get the stuff that won't (hopefully) need to be upgraded/replaced in the near term. CPU, RAM, PSU, monitor, hard drive. stuff like that. Prices on those shouldn't fluctuate too greatly.
