New PC wont connect to the internet?

#1matrix0523Posted 11/14/2013 9:34:07 AM
After a month of troubles, I finally managed to get my new PC built. Got Windows 8 on it and everything, but now I have a new problem. It doesn't register my ethernet cable. Help please? I have no clue what could be happening.

With your motherboard there should have been a disk with various drivers on it.
One of them should have been called LAN.
That is your ethernet port.

or you can go to the manufacturers website and download the current drivers to a flash drive, assuming you have a second PC since you're still online

You can also check the BIOS to see if the Ethernet port is even activated.
