Is it safe to just bump up my 7950 to 7970 speeds?

Its currently idling at like 48 and in battlefield 4 gets in the mid 60s-low 70s .

What does your ventilation look like

not to be snide but a 10% OC will do just that to temps, maybe more

Just saying because at 80-85C it's just going to throttle and performance will decrease

You can always turn your fan speed up higher if you want to control that heat a bit. But you can't just OC the GPU up to a certain point and expect it to work. You need to test it for stability and check for artifacting using something like occt, kombuster, ocscanner, etc.

Its just basic air cooling with 1 front 120 mm fan, one side fan and 1 top fan in a rosewill challenger case.

The 7950 was bigger then expected so its a tight fit in there.

Also the fans only go up to 52 percent while playing bf4 so it doesnt seem to be struggling for air.

If you use msi afterburner you can manually force the fans to run at whatever you like.

well your ventilation is the best the case can do

yeah, I would just make an OC profile set at 70% or so. 1000-1100/1350-1500 is pretty standard

is it a ref. blower or twin fan HS?

Oh I should state, i have a 500 watt corsair PSU.

After doing some research, I only want to bump it up to 925 core and 1375 clock (matching the 7970 frequencies). Would this be a safe overclock?

Also would i have to mess with the voltage with this kind of OC?
