DDR4 memory to be released by next month

I haven't been keeping up with DDR4 at all, but I was somewhat surprised to learn that it's going to be 1 channel per DIMM.

I do get the feeling that this means DDR3 prices won't be going back down though.

So are they going to make ddr4 compatible motherboards for the current cpu sockets like haswell and fx? Will those cpus even support ddr4?

No, you'll definitely need a new mobo but not sure if you'll need a new CPU

I'm building a new haswell 4770k/GTX 780ti build very soon. Is DDR4 going to be worth waiting for?

You'll definitely need a new CPU since the memory controller is on the CPU.

Man, I wanted to try and upgrade to a i5-4670k somewhat soon. So this is going to cost me more money than it already was going to.
