If there ever was a situation in which PC Gamers would be "behind the times," it would be the FIRST time.

If what I've read is true the PS4's memory bandwidth still blows DDR4 out of the water.

I'm building a new haswell 4770k/GTX 780ti build very soon. Is DDR4 going to be worth waiting for?

No, too long of a wait.

Intel Is going to have full DDR4 support when Haswell-E and Skylake are released in Q4 2014 (H-E) and 2015 (Sky).

Pfft, obv shmobv. This board is so infested with stupid console trolls right now it's impossible to tell if someone is joking or not when they say silly things like that.

What performance gains will DDR4 RAM give you anyway?

For intel systems with a dedicated gpu not a whole lot really. Its biggest draw is the reduced power consumption which is exciting for laptops but doesn't do much for desktops.

For an APU build it could lead to a substantial increase in performance since its base clock is 2133 MHz and I could swear I read about some clocked at nearly 4000. FX processors also scale to some extent past 1600 (intel stops scaling there to any real degree, if you benchmark ram performance it shows up but nothing real world really benefits) but I'm not familiar with what AMD has planned for DDR4 support since current processors obviously can't utilize it.
